THE STORY OF CONSUMING FIRE
Consuming Fire started with an idea to bless a speaker I heard, in 2004, with a gift. I wanted that gift to have a scripture on it but I couldn’t buy such a thing anywhere at that time, so I tried to create it. The result, my first hand made scroll and the speaker loved it!
Sometime later I was asking God about what I could do to support my work for the Lord and He reminded me of that first scroll and He encouraged me to take some simple, local material to make a meaningful gift of scrolls with different scriptures on them. I also felt that God was telling me that through this work His Word would be spread around the world to help and encourage others. He gave me Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” So with this encouragement I made 5 scrolls, then 10 scrolls, then 50 scrolls, then 100, then suddenly I had an order for 1050 scrolls! That was 2007 and until now I have produced almost 4,000 scrolls. God is good all the time!
ABOUT HOW TO CREATE CALLIGRAPHY
My wife and I currently live just outside of Ho Chi Minh City in a small rural area called Cu Chi. We love it there because the atmosphere is better with trees and rice fields around us. We rent a very small, humble house just 16 meters square and we grow plants in boxes in front of it. It causes people to stop and ask questions and they often want us to give them some of the seeds. We also try to plant the seed of God in their heart!

We want to build a family there and are very interested in modeling a loving family to the community we live in as we build relationships with them. At the moment we are praying for 19 families that we know already.
